4. 4. To take a screen capture press the
home button and the on/off button at
the same time. A screen shot will be
saved to your photo library.
5. Create an account with the app store
in order to download apps.
6. Do NOT use any type of cleaning
product on the screen. Use a lint free
cloth to clean your iPad.
5. 7. To delete an app, touch and hold on an app, the
app will shake and an x will appear on the top left
hand corner of the app, touch the x to delete the
app. Remember if you buy an app and then delete it
you can always download it without having to pay a
second time using your account.
6. 8. You can exit an app by clicking on the home key or
by placing 5 fingers on the iPad using an open hand
and then pinching. The app will close but it hasn’t
been shut down. To shut down an app, double click
on the home key, this will bring up open apps in a
row. Touch and hold an app, a red minus sign will
appear, touch the red minus to shut down the app.
7. 9. To adjust the brightness of your
screen, double click on the home key,
slide the task tray to the right and then
adjust the brightness.
8. 10. To connect to Wifi:
a) Go to settings, Wifi
b) Choose your Network
c) Type in your password
9. 11. What web browser should you use?
Firstly, a web browser is a program (or app) that
connects and displays information that exists on
the Internet. Unlike a PC or laptop, an iPad
doesn’t display everything that can be accessed
on the web (ie you can’t access most flash
content). Safari is Apple’s web browser that is
installed on every Apple computer and mobile
device. I recommend that you stay with Safari
initially and then explore other web browsers (ie
Chrome) as you become more confident.
10. 12. When you buy an iPad you pay for
the amount of storage (GB) that your
device can hold. To check how much
storage you have used go to settings,
general and usage.
11. 13. You can use many different ways to
get your data (ie photos/videos) off your
iPad. Below I have listed 3 basic ways but
there are other options available:
a) Use your iPad charger; Connect the
charger to your ipad, remove the end
part that you plug into the wall, revealing
a USB outlet and then plug it into your
computer.
12. b) Email the photos/video files to
yourself as an attachment.
c) Create a Dropbox account and send
your images/videos to your Dropbox. You
will then be able to access them on any
device.
