Sub-priorities. Concentrate on burglary, robbery and town centres (hotspots for robbery).
Example Wandsafe
Available to any resident who has suffered a burglary, will offer home safety and security advice in partnership with the police, fire service and victim support: “The burglary experience was very distressing, but thanks to Wandsafe I can now sleep at night.”

Example: partnership between the police and council on CCTV.
Last week, report of a fight in Clapham Junction. Police notify CCTV control room, who witness it, and use the cameras to track the culprits who leave before the police arrive, CCTV operator guides them to where they went where they can make an arrest

Used to be sceptical, but reassurance is important, affects people’s quality of life if they have a disproportionate fear of crime. Can also result in under-reporting if people form the false view that ‘nothing will happen’.

Example: Intervention work. Often scoffed, but the cost of not intervening is far greater than the cost of perceived ‘perks’.
eg. Kickz, run in conjunction with Chelsea - sessions have a ‘lecture’ element which buys entitlement to training sessions.
These don’t just bribe people into good behavour, example of CR loss of form, concentration, leading to training programme and education. Learnt the value and rewards of his own effort, rather than succumbing to the frustration that may have led to ASB.

Junior Citizen. Example of the education work that goes on, teaching children at an early age about the potential dangers of drugs.
