3. The Law of Christ
There has never been a time when God has
not governed people on the basis of law.

Heb. 7:12
I Cor. 9:21
4. The Law of Christ
Since imperfect men have never been able to keep the law
perfectly, the Law of Christ provides for our forgiveness
through grace.
Romans 3:23
Ephesians 2:8-9
It should be firmly established in our minds
that though Christ governs us by His Law,
and though we are required to keep His Law to the best of our
ability,
salvation is still by grace and never earned!
The Lesson of Luke 18:9-14
Luke 17:10
“Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me…”
“O to grace, how great a debtor, daily I’m constrained to be…”
5. The Law of Christ
Still clearly, the Bible teaches us to be subject to the
Law of Christ.
Jesus Christ has the final Authority!
His Law is called:
The Law of faith (Rom. 3:27)
“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by
the law of faith.”
The Law of the Spirit (Rom. 8:2)
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law
of sin and death.”
The Law of liberty (Jas. 1:25)
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he
being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be
blessed in his deed.
The Royal Law (Jas. 2:8)
“If ye fufill the royal law according to the scriptures, Thou shalt love thy neighbor
as thyself, ye do well.”
