2. Palm Sunday Parade
I love the picture of worship in the triumphant entry of
Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
This was not an Easter Parade, but a Palm Sunday parade
which involved exuberant children shouting praise to Jesus, their King.
How does your child worship?
What opportunities make praise and worship meaningful for your family?
Here are some thoughts from Matthew 21:
God initiates worship. He reveals something about Himself and His people respond. Jesus
showed Himself as the prophesied King, coming to save His people. Children respond in worship
when they learn something new about what God has done or something takes on new meaning for
them.
Worship is active. Worship is a verb. Everyone and especially children, worships better when
involved actively. On Palm Sunday, the children waved branches, ran along with the parade, and
shouted praises, even in the temple.
Jesus looks for and loves the worship of children. See Matthew 21: 16 “Yes, have you never
read, out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise for yourself?”
On this Palm Sunday, listen for and learn from your child’s worship of our triumphant King Jesus.
