Program Overview
The Computer Programmer Program and Computer Analyst program provides a solid business foundation
and a detailed study of current and emerging technology, systems methodologies and programming. The
curriculum includes an in-depth, object-oriented programming stream with a strong emphasis on systems
analysis and design. In addition, you will acquire advanced skills in web development, database administration
and project management.
The program also offers a wide-range of technologies, including: C++, C#, JAVA, J2EE advanced XML and Web
services, Access, Oracle, networking and UNIX/LINUX operating systems. Many of these technologies will be in
the .NET development environment. In the final year of study, you may select an area of specialization from an
offering of technical electives. Another attractive feature of this program’s final year is the programming project.
All the technical, systems and business skills acquired during the first two years are used in the planning and
implementation of a “real world” business application.
Finally, this program also offers an optional co-op component. Academically-qualified students enhance their
education by working three terms as paid employees in the field. The experience not only allows you to put
classroom learning into practice, but also provides valuable contacts for future careers.
