How do I envision the city of the future

1. City of the future

Cities will be built based on ideas for the enhancement of mankind.

2. • By year 2050 about 70% of
human population will live in an
urban environment, making
cities change their structure in
order to adapt for the influx of
people. I believe cities will be
based on ideas in order to adapt
for the future.

3. Buildings
• Buildings will become the epicenters of cities
and will be capable of holding: housing, offices,
entertainment and green areas. Buildings will
be connected through breezeways equipped
with movable walkways in the ground and
upper floors, the breezeways will become huge
commercial spaces or malls where human
beings will have everything they need from
supermarkets to retail without ever going too
far away from where they work and live. E-
commerce will be obviously grow but humans
will always look for interaction in everyday
activities.

4. • Building will work like
satellite cities having
everything you need inside
your living space.

5. Affordable Smart
Housing
• Cities will start to offer affordable smart
housing. Housing prices will be stable and
affordable leading to medium sized
apartments with minimalist designs and full of
technology. A central Artificial Intelligence unit
will be the center of futuristic homes, this
technology will be able to meet many
demands for humans (like Siri) including the
whole operating control of the house( AC,
lights, entertainment, etc). The Artificial
intelligence unit will be able to hold
conversations and be a lifelong friend to
humans.

6. Skyline
• In the future, cities will have an
endless skyline where the front
and back end of building along
with hologram projections will
be a hotspot for marketing,
creating a new wave of
consumerism. LED lights will be
present everywhere saving at
least 75% of energy.

7. Public Transportation
Private electrical pods will be created in order to
make public transportation more comfortable.
Public transportation will convince people it is
better to ride public transport than to own a car.
The pods will be fully equipped in the inside with
TVs offering the news, weather, etc. Public
transportation will outplace car ownership as it will
be more efficient, you could use your free time in
the pod to either do some work or catch up with the
news instead of driving with no one invading your
privacy. Public transportation will be built over the
ground floor, maximizing the space for buildings and
green areas and will use productive and renewable
energy systems.

8. Cars
Car design will change forever for those who
still prefer to own a vehicle. Cars will become
smaller and completely electrical. Artificial
intelligence will also provide auto driving and
an interactive conversation that obeys
requests from the driver. Although humans
will opt for public transportation as it is the
easiest and most efficient way to get around,
highways will be built underground in the
future maximizing the space available on the
ground floor for buildings and green spaces.
Underground highways will be covered with
LED lights for traffic signals.

9. International
Travelling
• The invention of systems like the
Hyperloop and bullet trains will connect
cities and commute from one place to
another will be accessible. These systems
will make for example travelling from
Madrid to Paris for work a 10 minute
commute. Connection between different
countries will help achieve a more
prosperous society. International flights
will also shorten the flight time
dramatically.

10. Green Spaces
• Green spaces will be spread out throughout
the city, from parks in between skyscrapers
to green spaces on terraces. The green
spaces will help with the environment,
society will move forward by the lowering of
carbon emissions by better means of
transport along with green spaces
throughout the city. Humans will always look
for green spaces for pleasure and a better
environment. These green spaces will have
de-polluting mechanisms to free cities from
any sort of pollution.

11. Renewable Energy
• Cities will be built around different
kinds of renewable energy. It is
calculated that today 20% of all energy
comes from a renewable source, I firmly
believe that in the future about 70% of
the energy will be renewable. Solar
photovoltaic, geothermal, wind
turbines, bio power and hydropower
energy will become hugely popular
making cities become almost
completely environmental friendly.
Careers in the renewable energy sector
will become the most prominent job.
