     Ground pollution


What can we do to help?
    Increase Habitat
    Reduce air pollution
    Reduce water pollution
    Reduce ground pollution
How did we reduce our impact on the Eco-System at Kellam High School?
Limit Habitat Destruction
   Limit our construction impact
   Restore habitat if possible
   Connect habitats with “habitat highways”
Limit Air pollution
   Reduce Building Energy Use
     Use natural daylight
     More efficient HVAC
     More insulation
                                 680 wells, 300 feet deep
   Reduce Vehicle use by
     Carpooling
     Riding bikes
     Mass Transit
   Planting more Trees
Limit Water Pollution
Irrigate with
Rain Water
• Kellam can collect and store
  167,000 gallons of water at one
  time
• On average we will be collecting
  100,000 gallons of water a month
  to water play-fields
