Lesson 2.5 WarmUp:
Solve each equation. Show all work for full credit.
1) 1.3c = 3.3c + 2.8
2) 2(4r + 6) = 2/3(12r + 18)
3) 12 4/5(x + 15) = 4
4) 7 3r = r 4(2 + r)
5) 2/5m = 1/3(2m 12)

Lesson 2.5:
*To evaluate absolute value expressions...plug in the value(s) for the
variable(s) and simplify.
*To solve absolute value equations...we must consider both possible
"cases"...
>|x| = 5 the solution is: 5 and 5
*So... For any real numbers a and b, if |a| = b, then a = b or a = b
And.... |a + b| = c, then a + b = c or a + b = c
And...the solutions can be graphed on a number line.

Lesson 2.5 examples:
Evaluate each expression:
A) |3 h| + 13, if h = 5
B) |f + g| h, if f = 3, g = 4 and h = 5
C) a + |2x a|, if a = 2 and x = 2.1
