Ulysses S. Grant served as the 18th President of the United States from 1869 to 1877. During his presidency, several important events occurred including the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, the establishment of Yellowstone National Park, and the passage of the 15th Amendment granting black men the right to vote. However, Grant's presidency was also plagued by scandals involving corruption including the Credit Mobilier scandal and the Whiskey Ring scandal.
