Job responsibilities:
Receiving information on adverse events, perform initial checks, search database to prevent duplicate
entries, create case file and initialize drug safety reports in DS&E tracking tool and/or safety database.
Ensure scientific rigor through accurate, complete and consistent data entry of adverse event reports from
source documents with emphasis on timelines and quality.
Evaluate and finish processing of expeditable AE reports, including review for completeness and accuracy.
Identify clinically relevant information missing from case report and facilitate its collection (in consultation
with medical staff as required) by preparing follow-up request as needed.
Key contribution:
Innovated and developed the pilot project of Adverse Events report via a QR code/bar code. This would lead
to precise reporting of events along with the automatic capturing of the drug name, formulation, lot number
and other details that are usually difficult to report but vital to the assessment of overall safety of the same.
During data analysis identified study treatment dosage being captured wrongly, in case of a data
reconciliation between the Clinical and the Safety teams leading to erroneous reporting to Health Authorities,
which is not only unethical but also impactful in the decision making process of the how the concerned
treatment is impacting patient safety and health. It lead to a change in the old convention and proper
understanding of how the start and stop dates of the treatment are to be captured for precise reporting.
