Everyone wants to be something, to become somebody, to know that the amount to the grand
scheme of the universe. There is always such a deep fear of mediocrity. Eating away telling you
"You aren't worth anything." that it's all useless in the long run. This has been true for a long time. I
believe humans have always felt this way. We have always wanted to matter. I think I finally
realized that this year. I realized that some things really don't change. Someone, somewhere along
the line of time has felt the same way or will feel the same way. Human's are complex creatures yet
we are extremely simple minded. This is obvious as we look in the past, analyze literature and art,
we realize that we have been talking about and thinking the same things for a long time.
The yearning of relevance is what motivates me. I wanna change someone's life, I want to be
something to somebody. Personally, I believe that my ambition is a huge part of my personality
and myself as a human being. This idea, is who I am. It has pushed me to succeed in school, in my

realised what my sincere answer would be. The doctor sat opposite me and took her stethoscope from
around her neck whilst sympathetically talking to me. When the doctors did what they did each time,
it highly intrigued me, how they knew every precise step to take. Predominantly curiosity overcame
me and this was an instance of it. To examine my breathing, the doctor put the ends of the
stethoscope in her ears and the bell on my chest. She informed me to take deep, gentle breaths. I did
as she said.
The doctor moved the bell and listened, then said, "Again."
Consequently, I pondered over what she was hearing. What did my breathing sound like? I
imagine my face said it all, because the next thing she said was, "Would you like to have a go on
one of my spare stethoscopes? Might cheer you up."
A slight smile appeared across her face as she said that. My eyes lit up and I couldn't contain my

Before I could really start to write about ambition, I had to ask myself what ambition really was.
