There is already a vast amount of Linked Data on the web. What is missing is a convenient way of analyzing and visualizing the data that would benefit from the Linked Data principles. In our previous work we introduced the Linked Data Visualization Model (LDVM). It is a formal base that exploits the principles to ensure interoperability and compatibility of compliant components. In this paper we introduce a vocabulary for description of the components and an analytic and visualization pipeline composed of them. We demonstrate its viability on an example from the Czech Linked Open Data cloud.

Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, and Venture Partner at Madrona Venture Group, presents the “Introduction to the TVM Open Source Deep Learning Compiler Stack” tutorial at the September 2020 Embedded Vision Summit. There is an increasing need to bring machine learning to a wide diversity of hardware devices. Current frameworks rely on vendor-specific operator libraries and optimize for a narrow range of server-class GPUs. Deploying workloads to new platforms — such as mobile phones, embedded devices, and accelerators — requires significant manual effort. In this talk, Ceze presents his work on the TVM stack, which exposes graph- and operator-level optimizations to provide performance portability for deep learning workloads across diverse hardware back-ends. TVM solves optimization challenges specific to deep learning, such as high-level operator fusion, mapping to arbitrary hardware primitives and memory latency hiding. It also automates optimization of low-level programs to hardware characteristics by employing a novel, learning-based cost modeling method for rapid exploration of optimizations.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is all about connected devices that produce and exchange data, and producing insights from these high volumes of data is challenging. On this session, we will start by providing a quick introduction to the MQTT protocol, and focus on using AI and machine learning techniques to provide insights from data collected from IoT devices. We will present some common AI concepts and techniques used by the industry to deploy state-of-the-art smart IoT systems. These techniques allow systems to determined patterns from the data, predict and prevent failures as well as suggest actions that can be used to minimize or avoid IoT device breakdowns on an intelligent way beyond rule-based and database search approaches. We will finish with a demo that puts together all the techniques discussed in an application that uses Apache Spark and Apache Bahir support for MQTT.

Detecting Hacks: Anomaly Detection on Networking Data

-- Presented at CAiSE 2013, Valencia, Spain -- Standardization efforts to simplify the management of cloud applications are being conducted in isolation. The objective of this paper is to investigate to which extend two promising specifications, USDL and TOSCA, can be integrated to automate the lifecycle of cloud applications. In our approach, we selected a commercial SaaS CRM platform, modeled it using the service description language USDL, modeled its cloud deployment using TOSCA, and constructed a prototypical platform to integrate service selection with deployment. Our evaluation indicates that a high level of integration is possible. We were able to fully automatize the remote deployment of a cloud service after it was selected by a customer in a marketplace. Architectural decisions emerged during the construction of the platform and were related to global service identification and access, multi-layer routing, and dynamic binding.

Today, organizations are using robotics to address a host of business challenges, from the self-driving car to autonomous walkers to assist older adults, exploring various environments from deep oceans to other planets like Mars. In the past, the integration of these robots took a significant amount of time and effort, and it required specialized expertise in this field. Still, this scenario has dramatically changed thanks to adopting a real-time production system with Linux and the Robot Operating System (ROS). ROS is an open-source software framework for robot development, including middleware, drivers, libraries, tools, and commonly used algorithms for robotics. In this session, we walk the audience through the steps from design to deployment robots using ROS2 Foxy (new version of ROS) from zero to hero using live demo using Python 3 (rclpy) with DDS (Data Distribution Service) simulating real-world environments with Gazebo (open-source 3D robotics simulator). In a nutshell, I will cover designing, developing, testing, and deploying intelligent robotics applications at scale, including integration with critical components, and discuss models that allow for optimized large fleet management.
