assistance to help busy heads and teachers in specific English
LITERACY-RELATED difficulties. English Reading Support Services
helps you find the resources to boost students’ motivation, and
interest in learning how to read in English.

Literacy instruction support for teachers and children.
Reading Strategies can spice up your English Reading Curriculum and offer
additional support for children who are struggling with learning how to
read in English.

Objectives
To Expand the learning process for primary grade students in

bilingual schools. Our
innovative ESL/ phonics instructional tools assist teachers with additional strategies to
help teach their students how to read and spell in English.

To Offer

schools in-house Reading Support Services for children struggling to read
in English. We mentor teachers to help them identify and assist students who need
additional reading support or intervention.

To Provide

a consistent assessment method to identify students’ beginning reading
level in Spanish and English. Valid for students in bilingual/international schools.
Literacy assessments can be used to better inform individualized reading instruction.

Reading/Remedial Reading Support is based on systematic phonics using
Multisensory Strategies and approaches through direct, concept teaching
Reading Readiness Assessment
RRA is a Screening Tool developed by the Learning Disabilities
Association of Alberta, Canada
 RRA is available in English and Spanish
 The Reading Readiness Assessment is designed for administration by
teachers or specialists as a general screening tool to identify students who
may be at risk for reading problems
 This screening tool is designed to be used primarily for students in
Kindergarten and Grade 1
 RRA may be utilized for students in higher grades, particularly English
Language Learners, with limited or no English Language
knowledge, experience or skills
 We provide the Recording Booklets, Teacher Instructions and Student
Stimulus Booklets
 The Stimulus Booklet has been designed so only one copy is necessary per
school
 We administer the English assessment and work as a team with a member
of your staff in Administrating the Spanish Assessment

foundation for reading and language.

 Children learning to read in English have difficulty acquiring reading accuracy skills
due to the complicated letter sound system of English. Students have fun while
analysing and using tools and strategies to “break the code” of the English
language.
To read and write in English students need to know how to first
apply spelling rules:
 Sound out words and understand letter/ sound relationships
 Divide words in syllables and sounds

Many students who have difficulties with reading in English and Spanish struggle with attention and
phonemic discrimination skills, such as:

 Identifying words that rhyme - perceiving the difference between similar sounds such as: /m/ and /n/
 Identifying the first sound in a word or mix sounds to form words
 Remembering the sequence of sounds in a word

Reading Readiness Assessment RRA is a Screening Tool developed by the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta, Canada  RRA is available in English and Spanish  The Reading Readiness Assessment is designed for administration by teachers or specialists as a general screening tool to identify students who may be at risk for reading problems  This screening tool is designed to be used primarily for students in Kindergarten and Grade 1  RRA may be utilized for students in higher grades, particularly English Language Learners, with limited or no English Language knowledge, experience or skills  We provide the Recording Booklets, Teacher Instructions and Student Stimulus Booklets  The Stimulus Booklet has been designed so only one copy is necessary per school  We administer the English assessment and work as a team with a member of your staff in Administrating the Spanish Assessment
