  4. Το 2013 ξεκίνησε με περισσότερη δυναμική αγοραπωλησιών από ότι το 2010 and 2011 και παρότι ο μέσος όρος του BDI δεν έχει αλλάξει σημαντικά από το Φεβ 2012 μέχρι σήμερα το αγοραστικό ενδιαφέρον συνεχίζει αμείωτο στα πλοία μεταφοράς χύδην ξηρού φορτίου (Bulk Carriers).

  7. SnP activity in the wet sector followed the same pattern as in the dry. 2012 witnessed less activity that 2010 but more than 2011.

The first months of 2012 were practically non existent for the newbuilding industry. Orderbooks came to life somewhat towards the beginning of the summer but the trend didn’t not last as owners turned shy again during Q4 of 2012. However in 2013 we have seen a new series of eco type orders that have been placed.

  16. As the majority of the orders that were placed back in 2010 got delivered this year, the oversupply of tonnage overwhelmed the dry sector massively. But that wasn’t the end of the story; to bring some balance back to the industry, record volumes of demolition activity, as breakers started increasing their bids, were noted in 2012, resulting in fleets getting considerably younger.
