(Barcelona), Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon) and MIT Media Lab (Boston).
With a strong Smart Cities research background, having five years of applied
research in fields such as IoT, Electric Mobility and Automation. Before Sensei,
Vasco was supervising all the R&D and innovation strategy at META, including
being responsible for the innovation pipeline ensuring the strategic
decision-making of the design, research, and development of the company

Paulo Carreira is a Senior Researcher at INESC-ID and lecturer of Software
Engineering and Database Subjects at the CSE department of IST. His work
focuses the agile creation of highly modular software for real-time
data-intensive applications. With 50+ publications and a total 40+ MSc
students brilliantly advised, Paulo has become one of the leading authorities
on IoT and sensor data integration. Before joining academia he worked 10
years in industry in a number of high visibility data integration projects
serving both in technical and managerial roles. He was head of
development of Data Fusion, a tool set for large-scale data integration and
migration used in the banking industry.
