5. Tip 1: Do your homework
You'll likely be asked difficult
questions during the interview.
Preparing the list of likely
questions in advance will help
you easily transition from
question to question.
Spend time researching the
company. Look at its site to
understand its mission statement,
product offerings, and
management team.

6. Tip 1: Do your homework
(con…)
6
A few hours spent researching
before your interview can impress
the hiring manager greatly. Read
the company's annual report (often
posted on the site), review the
employee's LinkedIn profiles, and
search the company on Google
News, to see if they've been
mentioned in the media lately. The
more you know about a company,
the more you'll know how you'll fit
in to it. Do you want to go back a high school
body? You can ref course of Kareem

7. Tip 2: Think as salesman
7
This is another great interview tip that I want to share with you. Today,
modern management thinking requires each employee to be a good
salesman even if he/she is not in the sales department.
You are required to understand the company's products and services, such
as the advantages and disadvantages of the product, advantages over the
competitors, how to use the product, and even how to convince
customers to buy the products.
With this knowledge, you will have a great opportunity to be employed
even if you have little or no working experience.
To conduct a research on the product, you may use the following
methods:
1. Call the sales department or contact online to find out about the
product
2. Search for reviews by online customers
3. Purchase and try the products yourself.
4. Call the sales department or contact your competitor's online sales staff
to find out about competing products and ask for their opinions on the
company's products.

8. Tip 3. Confidence:
8
The best advice we can give
is to be confident and
remember that you‘ve made
it this far for a reason. Hold
your head up high, don‘t
trip, and remember, ‗you got
this.‘ Interviews are one of
the few times in life where
narcissism is accepted and
maybe even embraced.

9. Tip 3: Confidence (con…)
Remember, there‘s a fine line
between confidence and arrogance
but during the interview process,
you want a beautiful balance of
both.
Side note – if you‘re naturally
arrogant, then disregard my
previous statement: For you I say,
smile and sit down – you ain‘t all
that!

10. Tip 4. Elucidate your core values
What is the greatest value you offer? What
makes you unique? What sets you apart
from others? Spend some time thinking
about these questions, then jot down five or
ten core value statements—phrased in terms
of value to the company.
For example: If your greatest strength is
leadership, rather than stating ―I have great
leadership skills,‖ expand on that in a
meaningful way: ―I am able to deliver
exceptional results—such as double-digit
profit increases and 10% revenue growth in
a down market—by inspiring and leading
people to put forth extraordinary effort and
do it with joy and passion.‖

11. 4. Elucidate your core values (con…)
If your technical expertise is a
great asset, bear in mind that
knowledge and expertise in and
of themselves are not valuable;
it‘s what you do with those
assets that counts: ―I‘ve
repeatedly gained competitive
advantage for the company by
introducing industry-leading
technology that works right the
first time and is consistently
months or even years ahead of
competitors.‖

12. 4. Elucidate your core values (con…)
In the ebook: Killer interview Secrets. Author
share The 7 Traits Employers Look For In
Every Applicant (page 7-16)
that help you identify your core values.
To make it easier for you to remember, Author
put these seven fundamental characteristics into
an acronym: S.T.A.P.L.E.S: Skillset, Team
player, Attitude, Professionalism, Leadership,
Ethic, Security.
I am in agreement with the author about three
traits: skill set, team-player, and attitude. I think
these traits are mostly sought after by most of
employers from their candidates.
A skill set is a list of necessary skills for
performing one‘s job. You can easily find out
about skill sets through job specifications, job
advertisements, or job descriptions, and so on. 12Jobguide247.info
13. Tip 5: First impressions
When meeting someone for the first
time, we instantaneously make our
minds about various aspects of their
personality.
Prepare and plan that first
impression long before you walk in
the door. Continue that excellent
impression in the days following,
and that job could be yours.

15. Tip 6: Tell your story
You must sell your product, which is
yourself, to land the job. Be prepared
to tell the interviewer why he should
hire you.
Some interviewers might not ask you
directly to explain why you are the
best candidate for the job.
Whether you are asked, be sure to fit
in a response during the
conversation. Be confident and
concise in explaining why you
believe you should be hired and what
you will do the best job possible.
Include your qualifications in your
sales pitch. 15

19. Tip 8. Make it about how you can help the company.
The job interview isn't the time to
tell your life story; you're there to
show that you can contribute value
to the organization.
Remember that the interview is
really not about you—it is about the
organization and how you are going
to solve [a hiring manager's]
problem of filling the position with
a qualified person—quickly—so be
sure to talk about how you can
apply what you know to their
organization," says Kelley Rexroad,
founder of the firm krexconsulting.

learn
As alluded to above, you should

expert on organizational behavior,
performed research that
demonstrates that candidates who
are willing to learn can turn
negative interviews around.
Jeannie ran experiments
involving mock interviews.

23. 10. Be willing to learn (con…)
A recruiter was primed to have a
negative bias toward a candidate. Of
the three groups of candidates, one
was instructed to prove they should
get the job; one was told
to learn from the interaction; and the
final group, the control, was given no
specific instructions.
She found that the recruiter‘s
negative bias was reinforced for the
control group and the group that tried
to prove they should get the job.
However, ALL of the candidates who
set out to learn from the interaction
reversed the recruiter‘s negative bias
and were offered a job. 23Jobguide247.info

Interviewing Practice

career counselor or coach or a fee-

Do not leave the interview without
ensuring that you know all that you want
to know about the position. Once the
interview is over, your chance to have
important questions answered has ended.
Asking questions also can show that you
are interested in the job. Be specific with
your questions. Ask about the company
and the industry. Avoid asking personal
questions of the interviewer and avoid
asking questions pertaining to politics,
religion and the like.

26. Tip 13: Follow up and send a thank-you note
Following up after an interview can help
you make a lasting impression and set
you apart from the crowd.
Philip Farina, CPP, a security career
expert at Manta Security Management
Recruiters, says: "Send both an email as
well as a hard-copy thank-you note,
expressing excitement, qualifications
and further interest in the position. Invite
the hiring manager to contact you for
additional information. This is also an
excellent time to send a strategic follow-
up letter of interest."

27. Tip 14: If You Don’t Get Hired, Find Out Why
Not every interview will be a winner,
sadly, even if you do everything right. If
you don‘t get hired, the best thing you can
do is find out why and apply that
knowledge to your next round of
interviews. Look back on your interview
and think about what you could have done
better, whether it‘s avoiding the
―overqualification‖ trap or just simply
using better grammar. There are any
number of reasons someone might not hire
you, and all you can do is use this round as
practice for your next interview.
27Jobguide247.info
28. Tip 15: Freelancer jobs
If you are not recruited, you do not
need to worry because nowadays, there
are many online jobs that can bring in
income much higher than the income
that you worked for the company.
