2.  Diabetes is a problem with the body’s fuel
system.
 This is caused by the lack of insulin, a
hormone made in the pancreas that is
essential for getting energy from food
 There are two kinds of diabetes
Type 1: starts on children but can also start in
adults, the body stops making insulin
completely
Type 2: also called adult-onset diabetes, the
body still makes some insulin but cannot use
it properly

7.  Diabetes is caused by not enough insulin in
your body
 The pancreas is what cannot produce enough
insulin for the body
 There are two types of diabetes Type 1 and
Type2

8.  Blurry vision
 Fatigue
 Excessive thirst
 Hunger
 Weight loss

9.  Diabetes is not terminal and can be treated by
taking medications and putting changes in
your diet
 If this is untreated for too long the effects of
diabetes may lead to death
