Delivered graduate level Hadoop course with emphasis on job market demand for Big Data skills such as HDFS, Pig, Hive, Spark, MapReduce, ETL, R, Data Warehousing, SQL Analytics and Amazon Web Services Elastic MapReduce. Common themes through out the course included skills required to land a job and delivering value to real-world business units. Flipped course methodology was introduced to encourage greater student interaction and opportunities for discussion in the classroom while presenting students mini-documentaries and reports by Gartner, Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review outside of the traditional classroom.
