• Respond quickly. Speed builds loyalty. It shows you care.
• Respond thoughtfully and thoroughly. Research each person before
responding. Have they donated or volunteered?
• Consider your resources. If you don’t have the resources to properly
respond, turn off the messaging feature.
• Have rules for each type of query. Common donor questions, volunteer
questions, media questions.
• Write canned responses for common queries. Common donor

• Use Messages during events, like giving days and walkathons, and then
deactivate it at other times.
