My interest is in practice-based approaches that help managers to pay attention to what it is that they are doing everyday. Research into how managers learn shows that at least 80% takes place through a mix of direct experience of doing the job and in conversation with colleagues. On the MA in Management Learning and Leadership (MAMLL) at Lancaster University I spent time researching management learning by interviewing managers and observing them working.
