The Huashan trail in Shaanxi Province, China is located near Xi'an and is one of the five sacred mountains in China. It is a popular tourist attraction known for its natural scenery and Taoist temples. However, it is most famous for its dangerous trail to reach the mountain peaks, which has five sections and offers incredible views from the top. The most perilous part of the trail is only 12 feet wide with a vertical cliff on one side, requiring careful footing. While a cable car provides an alternative way up, it does not have the thrill and sense of accomplishment of conquering the world's most dangerous trail.

16. The people who accept this hiking challenge are usually young die-hards who want to demonstrate their know-how. Unfortunately many of them are subject to deadly accidents. It is estimated that about 100 die every year on the Huashan trail but thanks to Chinese censorship, there are no official records of these accidents.

18. The most dangerous part of the trail is thought to be the “Changong Zhandao.” Nearly 12 feet high and 1 foot wide along a path on the vertical cliff, one wrong move is a direct ticket to the abyss.

19. If you would like to bypass the terrible challenge, you can take cable car up to North Peak and enjoy the incredible view. But you won’t be able to calim that you’ve conquered the most dangerous trail in the world.
