4. Why Vinyl Time Tested Performance Vinyl fencing has been field tested for 20 years and laboratory tested for over 50 years. Proven to be highly durable, most manufactures are able to offer lengthy warranties. Vinyl fencing materials are very strong and resilient. In fact, vinyl has five times the tensile strength of wood and four times the flexibility.

7. AcoustiVinyl Post Integrity The AcoustiVinyl ™, when built at heights under 10’, utilizes a .125” thick steel tube for the core stiffener. The 1.5” x 2.5” tube is set in the concrete footing at desired centers and the post “sleeve” is slipped over the tube once the concrete has set. The AcoustiVinyl ™, when built at heights exceeding 10’, utilizes a 4” x 4” steel I-beam for the post stiffener. Again, once the concrete has set the vinyl post sleeve is slipped over and down the I-Beam.
8. Test Results Live Load Test Results: On 10’ centers – AcoustiVinyl noise barrier wall is structurally sound for “wind – live load’’ of 45 psf. Typical criteria for this type of fence system = 26 to 39 psf with 100 mph wind velocity in the 14 to 29 foot height zone * . *As per AASHTO guide Specifications, interim 2002 maximum wind pressure tables, exposure B1 and B2. Surface Density Test Results: The 32 STC STC AcoustiVinyl ™ is manufactured with a mass of 2.06lbs per linear foot, yielding 4.12lbs per sq foot. The AcoustiVinyl ™ rail mass exceeds the minimum approval criteria of 4lbs per sq foot for highway applications. Sound Transmission Test Results: ASTM E90 (Sound Transmission Loss) test of polystyrene filled sample wall (8’ H x 12’ W) returned an STC rating of 32 . Significantly more than the STC 20 minimum – bettered by few other wall systems.
9. Structural Integrity Rigid PVC resins can be extruded into highly durable building products. Rigid PVC bas been used in fence and deck applications since the mid 1980s, and in pipe and siding applications since early 1970s. Material will not corrode, erode, rust or rot. Product life-spans measured by multiple decades as opposed to years.
10. Near Zero-Maintenance No aftercare treatment (painting/staining) required with PVC materials. Rain will wash most accumulated residue away. Excessive dirt can be power-washed away if desired. Graffiti (felt/paint) can be washed off with minimal effort. Many oil and water based paints, permanent marker and other coatings have been tested and successfully removed with standard graffiti removers. Some applications may require hot water pressure washer to assist in removal. It is recommended to remove graffiti sooner rather than later as the sun may ‘back’ paint on and be more difficult to remove. Vinyl is a non-porous material and as such the paint will not easily penetrate the surface as it will with concrete or wood surfaces.
