2. Setting up a eportfolio site:
• Consider privacy and confidentiality-
some free sites means it has to be
viewable by all
• Mahara, Weebly, Blogging, Wiki,
Hotmail (can be controlled)
• Look for :
Ease of use- drag and drop, copy
& paste
Templates set up already

3. The benefits of using an e-portfolio over a paper
portfolio are:
• Templates can be set out for ease of use
• Reflection can be hyperlinked to competencies.
• Can store presentations, be creative i.e. videos.
• Multiple portfolios can be created depending on the nature of
the portfolio and its audience.
• Eliminate the need to carry around large folders.
• Important documents can be uploaded and saved in the event
of a fire or flood.
• Can be sent to anyone in the world, or viewed in open
content.

4. Potential Problems
• Need to be ‘techno savvy’
• Users often spend more time on eportfolio
than paper
• More time and focus is spent on layout rather
than content
• Need to back up files
