I have devoted all life to industry. Not only in the Group Soler & Palau (S & P), the side of the
founders, specialized in international industrial expansion, but also in the employer work,
conventions, and now in the Eduard Soler Foundation transferring personal qualified and
technology companies in the metal. In the middle of the last century a young man entered into a
company - in our case at the school of apprentices of S & P-, was an apprentice a few years and
was climbing the ladder of the professional categories. I grew up in the culture of each company

Today industrial processes have accelerated. Practically no time to repeat our responsibilities;

to the technological skills, are central to so-called personal skills, such as teamwork, asynchrony or

internationally.
The companies of the metal mechanic sector have taken positions as service. A mould does not
sell molds, but mold productivity already. Moulds, machines, dies, being sold for parts/second or
euros/second; it not only takes into account the productivity, but also maintenance, media,
materials.
To be competitive in these markets, apart from the technology and personal skills, it was
essential to integrate values and values within the enterprises management. Professional teams, if
they want to offer a good service, have to share values. There are companies that have already

and customers. In the Eduard Soler Foundation we have defined our values ensuring that they
were cross-cutting and suitable for the metal industry. These are: responsibility, honesty,
commitment, respect, progress and perseverance.
What distinguishes us from other sectors is probably the latter, perseverance. The metal or the
modern update Mechatronics is a demanding sector, professionally. International competition and
the short life of products made of perseverance the most precious business value.
One of the students of the Foundation had to leave school because they could not pay is the

The industry is ready and needs professionals ready to make your career a success. We need
persevere and strive to learn every day, technology, teamwork, internationalization, orientation in
the market and, above all, trusting that the Catalan industry has reserved a place in the
international arena. An industry that, if we keep it competitive, will serve so that we have better
schools and hospitals. We can be a rich country; you just have to persevere.
