5. This year we will be using Onedrive and Dashboard for homework
assignments. OneDrive is similar to Google Drive, but works with your
college log-in. Dashboard is a system which is used for me to set
homework assignments (including Key Assessments). The advantages
of this are…
- You will receive an automatic email when an assignment is set.
- You will be able to see the deadline of when the work is due.
- You can ask questions to the teacher (and see the questions of
others).
- I can see at a glance who has completed their work and who
hasn’t!
Since we use Macs and the compatibility between them and your PCs
at home are slightly different, I would suggest using Word online
within Onedrive to take notes this year (unless you’d rather take
notes physically).
The advantage of this is that you can edit the documents at home or
at school without worrying about transferring them or remembering
to update older versions.

10. In Film Studies, the connotations of an image are the part
most integral to analysis.
In other words, analysis is about looking at the signifier
and exploring what it signifiers.
To do this, we need to be aware of various aspects of film
form – the tools filmmakers use to produce meaning,
aesthetic effects, and convey messages and values.
Aspects of film form:
- Mise en scene
- Performance
- Cinematography
- Editing
- Sound
Over the following two weeks we will
cover these aspects of film form.
