Interpreting the work and giving new visual solution

1. Workshop on S.D. Phadanis
conceptualize by Ranjan R. Joshi.
Inspired from his Exhibition at Rachana Sansad’s Art Gallery..

2. This experiment was inspired from the gift I received from
France which is about a set of Posters designed and published on
the subject “Tribute- Savingnac, 60 Graphistes et illustrateurs
Rendent homage A Raymond Savingnac”, by Ms. Florence
Robert an art history expert and poster curator. She wanted this
exhibit to be displayed here in India. My former HOD in Global
Graphic Design Education Mrs. Jamilla had a discussion with her
about it. It did not happened due to certain issues. My mind was
charged by this concept and I prepared a small treatise on the
subject parallelism between Savingnac and S.D. Phadnis which
was received nicely both in India and France. Incidentally an
event that took place wherein S.D. Phadnis was to be felicitated
and his work was being exhibited to respect his contribution to
the world of visual art by Prof. Mrs. Saraf, principal of Rachana
College of Applied art who took the initiatives to do this event.

3. I took this opportunity to try and give a live tribute to
S. D. Phadnis in his presence by inviting students to create their
visual interpretations in their own respective styles on the works
of S.D. Phadnis. My wife Mrs. Prof.Vidya help me in organizing the
students along with the staff of Prof.Mrs. Saraf’s college. Sunil
Garuad newly entered professional illustrator my wife’s Sir.J.J.
Inst.’s ex. Student was first to join followed by other juniors such as
Mugdha Kale,Pryandhya Malandkar, and Aditi Nirgundkar. They
had a word with “S.D.” and studied his exhibits and gave me this
beautiful results on the spot. “S.D.” was touched and it turned out
to be first such experiment done through visual art. If you look at
each once work you will notice the spontaneity and visualizing
power. We can take up such projects on more study level research
of such great masters.

7. This experiment gave a unique experience about how students and
professional artist react to the work of great humorist S. D. Phadanis.
I wanted to also involve the students to the exhibition
in a visual manner .
