ATIS4all is a European Thematic Network which main objective seeks to facilitate everyone's access to the most suitable AT or accessibility device and service according to their needs, preferences and contextual characteristics (e.g. ICT solution, environment constraints, user device, language, etc.). For this purpose, ATIS4all will start and maintain an open, collaborative portal offering reliable information on AT and inclusive products and services, and cutting-edge technological trends. ATIS4all will contain Web 2.0 participation tools in order to encourage online discussion exchange of knowledge and expertise, and sharing of information among key actors and end users

En España se dan un conjunto de condiciones para liderar tecnologías de inclusión, que podrán implantarse a gran escala. En primer lugar, el movimiento asociativo de la discapacidad y mayores está muy bien estructurado con asociaciones muy profesionalizadas e interconectadas entre sí, jugando un papel muy relevante ONCE y Fundación ONCE, y proporcionando una base social imprescindible para la consecución con éxito de las iniciativas en este campo. El volumen potencial de usuarios es muy relevante, dado que según los datos del Padrón municipal de enero de 2007, en España hay 7,5 millones de personas mayores de 65 años (un 16,7% de la población). El número absoluto de personas mayores no ha dejado de aumentar en los últimos años. En conjunto, las personas con discapacidad y los mayores suponen en la actualidad más del 20% de la población española. Además, España se ha constituido como punta de lanza en Europa en materia de legislación en el ámbito de la eInclusión.

Employment, skills, and accessible technology are key to making greater progress towards broad digital inclusion. This invitation-only workshop jointly organized by Microsoft and ONCE on the 14th June 2010 was an opportunity to facilitate a high level, multi-stakeholder dialogue on how to promote greater employment opportunities for people with disabilities with a focus on practical technical and policy solutions. The dialogue was structured around two key documents: (1) New Skills for New Jobs: Action Now that is a report by the Expert Group on New Skills for New Jobs prepared for the European Commission (February 2010); and (2) Post Crisis: e-Skills Are Needed to Drive Europe’s Innovation Society, an IDC White Paper sponsored by Microsoft (November 2009).

The “Study on economic assessment for improving eAccessibility services and products” general objective is twofold: to produce specific micro-level evidence and practical tools that support decision makers of firms and public sector organisations in their assessment of their investments in eAccessibility, and to generate aggregate figures and recommendations that provide policy makers with a view on the order of magnitude of potential benefits and costs for the economy and society as a whole, as well as the mechanisms to boost them. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of the accessibility of mainstream ICT by providing useful information on costs and benefits of eAccessibility to the different stakeholders, including empirical evidence, analytically/theoretically elaborated instruments and data, and recommendations for improvement.

Retrieval augmented generation (RAG) is the most popular style of large language model application to emerge from 2023. The most basic style of RAG works by vectorizing your data and injecting it into a vector database like Milvus for retrieval to augment the text output generated by an LLM. This is just the beginning. One of the ways that we can extend RAG, and extend AI, is through multilingual use cases. Typical RAG is done in English using embedding models that are trained in English. In this talk, we’ll explore how RAG could work in languages other than English.
