3. The Amthane dam lies in a splendid location approximately 20 km from Mapusa.
It is not yet developed for tourists and picnickers but is a nice place to unwind.
7. Palolem beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign
tourists who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself
12. The ruins of St. Augustine Church which was perhaps the largest one in Goa . The Church of St Augustine was
constructed by the joint efforts of 12 Augustian Friars after they arrived in Goa on 3rd September 1572 AD.
13. This Borim bridge was bombed by the Portuguese when the Indian army marched into Goa in 1963.
15. The Amona bridge is 510 meters in length and is made of a structural steel truss with reinforced
cement concrete slab. It also serves as a tourist spot for people outside Goa.

17. Chorla Ghat is a nature destination located on the intersection of the borders of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra. It lies
to the north-east of Panaji, Goa (about 50 kilometers by road). It is a part of the Western Ghats in the Sahyadri
mountain range and is at an elevation of 800 meters.
18. Chorla ghats boasts of a few rare species of wild-life such as the barred wolf snake
(Lycodon striatus) in its sub-tropical forests.
24. Dudhsagar is one of the world's most exquisite falls. It lies high up in the Mandovi River's
watershed and so are not particularly spectacular during the dry season.
26. The Caranzalem beach is situated at about 4 kms from Panjim in between Miramar and
Caranzalem. The beach is 3.5 km long and has stretches of white sand and clear water.

on the hills of Arpora to showcase their skills and celebrate the spirit of Goa.
32. The statue of Abbe Jose Custodia Faria, is that of a priest hypnotizing a woman and is
located in a small square just near the old Secretariat in Panjim.
33. This is one of the oldest churches in Goa, as well as in India. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is more
than 400 years old and is open to the public everyday.

35. Today there are two bridges over the river Mandovi running parallel to each other. Initially
there was only one bridge connecting Panjim and Porvorim. One slab of this bridge gave way
since then ferry services was put into service to commute people from Betim to Panjim and
other side from Malim to Panjim. A new bridge was constructed later parallel to the old bridge.
The old bridge was repaired in the later years and is in service. As a result, today there are two
bridges over the river Mandovi at Panjim.
36. The Rua de Ourem creek lies below the Patto Bridge.
37. It was also referred to as the Royal Portuguese Hospital but presently is the Goa Institute of Management.
Being a heritage structure, it has not been modified under any circumstances and is known to be
Asia’s first hospital.
39. THE OLD SECRETARIAT -This heritage building, with sloping tiled roofs, wooden verandas, and
carved stone coats of arms, occupies a pleasant spot by the Mandovi.
40. The Adil Shah Palace which has traditionally housed the OLD SECRETARIAT has been identified
by the directorate of art and culture as a centre for art and culture in Goa
