Crowns

CROWNS Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 8 Salvation is the free gift of God, but to have the rewards we need to run (work) Right rewards will be given for believers at the Judgment seat of Christ.
3. CROWNS THIS BREIF STUDY COVERS What the crowns are ? Whom will be given crowns ? Who will receive the crowns ? Who will give the crowns ? When the crowns be given ? How many crowns promised ? Why the different crowns ? What crowns will show ?
4. CROWNS WHAT THE CROWNS ARE ? Crowns of this world given for victors as rewards 2 Timothy 2: 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Apostle Paul had in mind the Grecian games, various games like, running, fight or masteries. (Few varieties that time) The victors were honoured with crowns of laurel leaves those days. (But Crowns of the Lord given for the faithful ones)

CROWNS EVERY BELIEVER IS IN THE RACE Hebrews 12: 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12: 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. EVERY BELIEVER IN THE FIGHT 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Hebrews 10: 35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
6. CROWNS CAN I GET A CROWN ? 2 Timothy 4: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me (Paul) a crown …..and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (One or more can get for you, if you are worthy)

CROWNS WHO WILL RECIEVE THE CROWNS ? 2 Timothy 2: 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. 1 Corinthians 9: 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown (Every believer is called to fight the good fight, and run the race) All who “ fought the good fight ” or “ finished the course ” will receive the crowns.
8. CROWNS WHO WILL GIVE THE CROWNS ? The Lord the righteous judge 2 Timothy 4: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge , shall give me at that day: The Son of Man (Lord Jesus Christ) John 5: 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Revelation 22: 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me , to give every man according as his work shall be.

CROWNS WHEN THE CROWNS BE GIVEN ? 2 Timothy 4: 8 The Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day : Philippians 2: 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ , that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. 1 Thessalonians 2: 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming ? 2 Corinthians 5: 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

CROWNS Judgment seat of Christ Rom.14:10 We shall all stand before the Judgment seat of Christ. 2.Cor.5:10 We must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ. 1.Cor. 4: 5 And will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. Subject: Believers works . Time: After the rapture. (1.The.4: 16) (Before the marriage of the Lamb.) Place: Judgment seat of Christ (In Heavenly places) Basis: Things done while in the body. (Works) Result: Loss or Gain of rewards.

CROWNS 1.The Crown of righteousness (Love his appearing) 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness ….not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. FOR WHOM GIVEN ? All that love his appearing. What it means love his appearing ? Abide in him, … have confidence (1.Jn.2: 23) Ought to be in all holy conversations (2.Pet.3: 11) Hasting unto the coming (2.Pet.3: 12)
13. CROWNS 2. The Crown of rejoicing. (Soul winner’s crown) 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing ? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy. Philippians 4: 1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown , so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. FOR WHOM GIVEN ? For those who win the souls for the master 2 Timothy 4: 5 Endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
14. CROWNS 3.The Crown of Glory. (Elder’s crown) 1 Peter 5: 3-4 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. FOR WHOM GIVEN ? For those who shepherdess the flock of God. Duty of great responsibility Acts 20: 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God. 1 Timothy 5: 17 Let the elders that rule well…especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
15. CROWNS 4. The Crown of life. (Martyr’s Crown) James 1: 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Revelation 2: 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: …be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee A crown of life . FOR WHOM GIVEN ? Them that endureth temptation Faithful unto death Revelation 12: 11 And they overcame… and they loved not their lives unto the death.
16. CROWNS 5. The Crown Incorruptible. (The victor’s crown) 1 Corinthians 9: 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. FOR WHOM GIVEN ? All those who overcometh by faith (1.Jn.5: 4) Bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2.Cor.10: 5-6) To be temperate in all things. (1.Cor.9: 25) (In the Grecian games victors were given Crowns of Laurel leaves; fades or gets corrupted; but we will receive crowns incorruptible)
17. CROWNS WHY THE DIFFERENT CROWNS ? 1 Corinthians 12: 4-7 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. In the Games each athletes with various natural talents; How you exercise with your given Spiritual gifts ? (Faith, evangelist, Pastor- teachers, ministries all comes under the Spiritual gifts. Do you exercise the gift that is in you ?) Apostle Paul from typical examples of Race and fight. Spirit of God shows us the different areas we can win crowns.
18. CROWNS HOW CAN BE SURE OF CROWNS ? Be sure you are running the race Look unto the author and finisher of your faith. ( Heb.12: 2 ) Press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling. ( Phil.3:14 ) Run with patience the race that is set before you. ( Heb. 12: 1 ) Faint not in reaching the goal. ( Heb.12: 3 ) Run that ye may obtain (1.Cor.9: 24) (May the Lord helps to say with Paul “I have finished my course”) Be sure that you are in the fight Be sure you strive lawfully Labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in you. Be temperate in all things, be certain of the fight (1.Cor. 9: 25-26) (May the Lord helps to say “ I have fought a good fight”)

CROWNS We thank thee for the crown, Of glory and of life! ‘ Tis no poor, with’ring wreath of earth Man’s prize in mortal strife: ‘ Tis incorruptible as is the throne, The kingdom of our God and His incarnate Son. (SOZ -318) Crowns will declare what you and me have been here on earth, all through the eternity.
