This document provides an overview of Apps for Office and their capabilities. Apps for Office can be Task Pane Apps, Content Apps, or Mail Apps. They integrate with Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project. Apps are defined using an XML manifest and can access Office contexts and settings. They are distributed via App Catalogs and published to stores like the Office Store.
