QUEBEC, Canada (June 2013) – The Ironman North American Championships will take place August 18, 2013, in Mont Tremblant, a small village located in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, Canada. The organizing committee is encouraging running enthusiasts and past participants to enter the competition, including Justin Zatkoff, a law student at the University of Detroit’s Mercy School of Law. Justin Zatkoff is an avid runner who has participated in numerous marathons and triathlons, including the Ironman Mont Tremblant in 2012.

3. About Ironman World
Championships
As a precursor to the Ironman World
Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the
Ironman Mont Tremblant features a 2.4-mile
swim and a 112-mile bicycle ride, followed by a
26.2-mile run. While completing the
course, participants will have the opportunity
to view the beautiful scenery that the village of
Mont Tremblant has to offer.
4. Conclusion
Earlier this year, the Ironman Mont Tremblant
was named by the Canadian Sport Tourism
Alliance (CSTA) as the CSTA International
Sporting Event of the Year. To claim this
honor, the Ironman Mont Tremblant edged out
more popular events, such as the 2012 All-Star
Weekend for the National Hockey League and
the 2012 qualifying tournament for Olympic
women’s soccer.
