Plutonium is a radioactive transuranic element with the chemical symbol
Pu and atomic number 94. It is an actinide metal with silver gray
appearance that darkens when exposed to air, forming a dull coating when
oxidized. The element usually exhibits allotropic six states and four
oxidation. Reacts with carbon, halogens, nitrogen and silicon.
