What are examples of kindness in the holy writ and how does kindness relate to the Christian faith? All are answered in this lesson. 3. Kind defined
• Kind (Gk. Chrestos & Charo) — means “to
furnish/provide what is needful.” The Gk. adjective
“chrestos” means “serviceable” or “useful”.
• Kindness— is characterized by benevolence and
tenderness. A kind person is disposed to help others
and to do so with sympathy and consideration.
• Kind — It relates to tender concern for others. It has
nothing to do with weakness or lack of conviction but
is the genuine desire of a Christian to treat others
gently, just as the Lord treats him.

4. God is patient and kind
God is Love
• Exodus 34:6 Then the Lord passed by in front of him
and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God,
compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and
abounding in lovingkindness and truth;
• Exodus 34:7 who keeps lovingkindness for
thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and
sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty
unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the
children and on the grandchildren to the third and
fourth generations.” (Ref. Gen.15:15-16)

• Numbers 14:18 The Lord is slow to anger and
abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and
transgression; but He will by no means clear the
guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the
children to the third and the fourth generations.’
• Numbers 14:19 Pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this
people according to the greatness of Your
lovingkindness, just as You also have forgiven this
people, from Egypt even until now.”
