In this presentation, we discuss the need to build educators' capacities to development Mobile Applications . We specifically focus on Mobile App Design for Teacher Education Development, we then explore a range of, Mobile App Development Platforms, and then we focus on Code(-less) Designing of Mobile Learning App with App Inventor 2

• Smartphones are ubiquitous in Uganda
• Most students own or have access to one
• Many schools have banned the use of
mobile phones in school
• Schools embrace desktop computers and
laptops which most students cannot
afford. The school too!
• It is ironic that a mobile generation is
growing up with a powerful device, i.e. a
smartphone, without untitled guidance
from either parents or teachers
• Elsewhere, Gov’ts have made coding and
m-learning app devt mandatory to ready
learners for the 4IR
• There is need to build educators’
capacities to develop Mobile Learning
Applications TE development for the 4IR.
