3. ST. PAUL‘S CATHEDRAL
• The St. Paul’s Cathedral is also known as the metropolitan
Cathedral. It is considered a major religious landmark not
only of northern Luzon but the country as well. Visitors
must include a visit to the cathedral when in Vigan as it has
been a center of Roman Catholic devotion for centuries.

4. LAOAG CATHEDRAL
• Laoag Cathedral, canonically known as St. William Cathedral is a
church in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It was built in 1612
by Augustinian friars to replace a wooden chapel. It is known for its
Italian Renaissance design and its Sinking Bell Tower, which sinks
into the ground at a rate of an inch a year.

A chronological landmark in Palo is the Cathedral which was built in 1596
by Fr. Alonso de Humanes, The Palo cathedral has been rebuilt twice – in
years prior to 1897 after damage by fire and tropical storm, and later in
1897 when a big tropical storm unroofed the church, damaged the
convent and other houses in the town.

the Immaculate
Conception
• The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in
Baclayon is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the
Philippines. It is one of the best preserved Jesuit build
churches in the region, although in the 19th century, the
Augustinian Recollects added a modern facade and a number
of stone buildings that now surround the church.

• Built by the Spanish friars sometime in 1894, the Our Lady of the
Most Holy Rosary Cathedral wows tourists and visitors of its
magnificence.
• History says that the original altar of the cathedral was designed by
Philippines’ national hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal.

CATHEDRAL
• San Pedro Cathedral is not only the oldest church in
Davao City, but also the city's premier historical
landmark. It was named after San Pedro (Saint Peter), the
patron saint of Davao. The original structure was built in
1847 during the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors, led
by Don Jose Uyanguren.
