The hose is connected to the gas
nozzle, the gas flows up through
the base into the barrel where it is
set alight and the flame comes up
out of the barrel to heat the item.

• The beaker is used to store
liquid and measure amounts
of liquid.
• The measuring marks on its
side allow you to measure
liquids inside the beaker.
• Also used for pouring of

• The Florence flask is used,
like the beaker, to store and
heat liquid.
• Also a popular container of
wine or juice, the Florence
flask can withstand extreme
temperatures, more than just
microwave safe!

• The Petri dish is a small
container used to grow
microorganisms.
• Some chemicals like agar is
used to grow the bacterium
in the dish.
• A Lot of colleges and
universities use these to
teach their students about
bacteria.

• The Pipette is used to
transfer small amount of
liquid to a new container.
• Lots of laboratories use
these, they are handy to use
when you have a small
amount of delicate liquid that
needs transfer or
measurement.
8. The Test Tube.
• The test tube, like the
Pipette, is used to hold small
amounts of liquid, or small
solids.
• You can use the test tube by
filling it with liquid, easy!
• It can be used to measure
too! There are small marks
that can allow you to
measure liquids.
