best fit for YOU!

4. Be Reasonable
Apply to an appropriate number of
schools and/or summer programs.

5. Plan Ahead
The application process has many parts
to it.
Plan ahead so you do not have to rush
around at the last minute stressing both
YOU and YOUR TEACHERS out.

6. Visit with your Counselor
See Mr. Monteith (or Mrs. Regan) to
make sure you have all your ducks in a
row.

Start a folder with a checklist with all
the things you need to consider

Transcripts
Standardized Testing (MAP, SSAT, SAT,
etc.)
SAS school profile
Recommendation forms/letters from
teachers, counselor, admin., etc.

9. SAS Activities
Most schools/programs request a list of
all the activities you have been involved
in. Please come prepared with a
completed list.

10. Recommendation Forms
Print off al l the necessary forms for
your teachers
Fill out Student Information section
Ask adults very nicely to fill out forms

Give your teachers at least two weeks to
complete forms/letters

16. Mailing of Application
SAS will mail your application
China Post (SAS will pay) - takes 2
to 3 weeks for delivery
DHL (230 to 300 rmb per envelope)
- takes 2 to 4 business days. Pay first
before we send.

17. SAT Testing
You can write the SAT at SAS Pudong
Must have proof you are registering for
boarding school/summer program that
requires SAT scores.

November 3, 2012 (Deadline to register is September 13 @ 3:00pm)**
December 1, 2012 (Deadline to register is October 11 @ 3:00pm)
January 26, 2013 (Deadline to register is December 5 @ 3:00pm ***This is because
of Christmas break)
May 4, 2013 (Deadline to register is March 14 @ 3:00pm)
June 1, 2013 (Deadline to register is April 10 @ 3:00pm)
