2. Raimonds Pauls-is born in 1936. He is a Latvian composer and pianists. Paul is one of the
most popular Latvian composer’s, he has written music for artists ,such as – Victor
Lapčenkon and Nora Pear, Ojārs Greenberg and Vilcāne Margarita, Valery Leontiev, Elli
U, groups' “Creed and the Song”.R. Paul has written six musicals , three ballet’s, music
performances in more than 50 films, of which the most famous is "The Devil's Servants,"
"Midsummer Night Limousine color", "Gift lonely woman", "Theatre", "The Long Road
went" etc.,and for the theater. R. Paul's songs have won 11 times in microphone song
poll. In 1985. the Soviet Union granted an artist's name.
3. Marija Naumova is born in 1973. Naumova's greatest achievement has been the
victory of the 2002nd Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I Wanna" .In the 25th
of may was the Eurovision final concert in Tallinn, Naumova, start under the
pseudonym Marie N. won, largely thanks to the glorious show.
4. Akurātere-Ieva is born in 1958. She is a singer, songwriter and actress. In year 2009 Ieva was involved in politics
and the civil union member elected Riga Dome. Since 1981 Ieva was the rock band’s "Thunder" soloist, and
performs with folk programs.Ieva has also collaborated with many other musical projekts. In the 19th , she
founded the group "Simulation",where she sung her own written songs.
5. March Kritiāns-Smith is born in 1980. He is a the group’s "Bus in Heaven" soloist and leader. In
Latvia well-known is his father composer Imants Kalniņš. Participated in numerous events such as
the 800th birthday of Riga. Marts with band “Melo-M” participated in Latvian Eurovision national
selection with the song "Say It Is", taking the second place in 2006.
6. Charles Būmeisters- is born in 1986. K. Būmeisters with Walter Fridenberga represented
Latvia at the 2005th of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "The War Is Not Over."
Groups "Bird Ball"'s issued two studio albums: "The Dream seller" and "Mr.Andersen not
lie." In 2008 The group was founded by "The Wedding", which raced at the successful
“musical bank.”
7. Gustavas Butelis or Gustavo-is born in 1978. He is a Latvian rapper and producent. He started playing musical
instruments in 1995. , when the group was founded "Fact", in which he was the main person who wrote the
whole text, and did many other things. It is possible that we would not be talking not about "Fact" or about
Gustavo, if one event had happened – Gustavo’s family moved to the center, and that’s why he had to change his
school which was the place where he met the next group member. Gustavo can’t imagine himself without hip-
hop.Gustavo’s song "Our steps" was also recognized as a basketball club in Riga "VEF" the official anthem.
8. Elīna Garanca-is born in 1976. She is a Latvian opera singer. Gained worldwide fame
with the role of Carmen by Bizet opera "Carmen". On the progress of the 2009th she
received the German Echo Klassik award Fonoacademy, the world's largest music
industry trade fair MIDEM Classical Music Award for the world's best singer among
women.
9. Ainars Virga (born in the year 1964 on april 6) he is a latvian rock musician, solist and
song writer. He is in the music business from 1980. He has been in the following groups -
"Corpus" , "Neptun" , "Livi" , "Liepajas brothers" and "Virga hard orchester.
10. Jānis Grodums ( born in 1958 on july 10., and died in 2010 on june 15.) was a
latvian musician , Liepajas rock group's "Līvi" vocalist and bass guitar
player.
11. Victor Lapčenoks (born in 1947. On 16th January)
Lapčenoks enjoyed growing success of the 1971-1977th in
performing a duet with Nora Pears
