An experienced certified pickleball coach, Kathy Levinson has taught the sport to members of the Palo Alto Pickleball Club. StartOut is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for LGBTQ entrepreneurs who often face an unequal playing field while trying to get venture capital funding, because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.. StartOut provides members with a wide range of programs and events that can help them in their work, such as the StartOut Growth Lab. The lab is dedicated to new companies founded and operated by LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs. The lab offers six months of extensive training in an office space where entrepreneurs will receive mentoring and education. StartOut matches the needs of each entrepreneur with particular mentors, providing experienced professionals as mentors, such as Peter Sisson and Chris Davidson, to guide people in their careers. The lab is held in San Francisco, which means members can collaborate with professionals and business partners there, as well as invite them to join their companies.
