This document discusses and compares advocacy groups and social issue organizations. Both use public relations methods like lobbying, litigation, demonstrations, and boycotts. Social issue organizations have broader goals. Social service organizations offer services and advocacy for social, philanthropic, cultural, and religious groups. They use methods like publicity, events, and newsletters to promote their services and educational materials. An example is provided of a fundraising golf tournament hosted by a central Florida autism institute.

But they are sometimes hard to define in
specific terms.
-Most are nonprofit
-However, some cultural organizations
receive government funds. (e.g. Smithsonian)
