The Women's Craft project aims to empower women in rural areas of Pakistan by providing skills training and financial/technical support for handicraft production and marketing. Over 10,000 unemployed women in the remote and underdeveloped Chitral district will be selected over 5 years to undergo intensive training in handicraft skills. The implementing partner, Chitral Development Council, will work with local governments and organizations to support the women and create sustainable livelihoods through handicraft entrepreneurship, helping the women and communities become self-sufficient.

opportunities for the poor, uneducated and unskilled women in the
selected valleys.
Its core objective is to create self- sustainable socio-economic
development patron for the rural communities through exploring the
human resource potential.
Concept, aims and objectives
3. Initially ten thousands poor / un-employed women shall be
selected for a five year period from district Chitral, the most
landlocked and backward mountain part of Pakistan.
The selected women will undergo through intensive skill
development and training process for the handicraft production.
The project will provide financial and technical support
to them in the handicraft production and marketing process.
This project will make them self dependent in their livelihood
and sustainable in their socio economic development.

4. CHIRAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Implementing Partner
Chitral Development Council shall be a non profit, non partisan development
organization registered with Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
Chitral Development Council shall engage in research and advocacy as well
as will identify and implement policies, strategies and projects in key
sectors like education, health, infrastructure, energy and communications.
The vision is to be leading organization contributing for the socio economic
development of the district. The mission is to support and strengthen the
district millennium development agenda.
