IDEA 1
Object: Keys
Why: For my first idea I plan to animate a set of keys. My reason for this is
keys are usually connected by a ring. This ring will represent the body
of my animation, and each of the keys will represent a limb, for example
an arm or leg. This means that there will be four keys on this ring; to
represent two legs and two arms. Then, a key ring of some sort will
represent the head of my animation. The reason why I chose keys on a
ring for this particular animation is because keys on a ring have a very
obvious and clear pivot point where the ring goes through each key.
This means that my animation could theoretically stand up right like a
human, and possibly walk (probably not very well).
IDEA 2
Object: Chain/Necklace
Why: For my second idea I have decided to create and/or animate a
necklace which is on my desk at home. This could be created quite
easily as it is fundamentally a rather long wire, with beads on it. So it
could be made up of a very long thin cylinder (the wire) going though
spheres (beads). In order to animate this necklace, I could imitate the
movements of a snake moving on the ground in my animation. At the
moment I am unsure as to how this snake-like necklace can interact
with the keys I plan on animating. However, as the chain represents a
snake and the keys represent a human, I believe there is some potential
as some form of action or chasing sequence.
IDEA 3
Object: Cologne bottle
Why: For my third object I have decided to model a bottle of the
popular cologne by Paco Rabanne called 1 Million. My reason for
this decision is the cologne is on the same desk at home which I
have the previously chosen to animate. I think that this bottle has
an interesting shape which can be replicated through the use of
primitive shapes in Maya. However the bottle has an engraved logo
on the front which my be difficult to recreate when modeling in 3D.
The reason why I decided not to animate this bottle is because it
does not have any pivot points or attachments which could move.
IDEA 4
Object: PS Vita
Why: For my fourth object I have decided to model a PS Vita. My
reason for this decision is the PS Vita is on the same desk at home
which I have the previously chosen to animate and model. I think
that this console has an interesting shape which can be replicated
through the use of primitive shapes in Maya. It has numerous
buttons, knobs and lines in the design which could be a challenge
to get perfectly, but I think it is definitely something which is
  achievable.
IDEA 5
Object: Desk
Why: For my fifth object I have decided to model my desk at
home. My reason for this decision is that my desk is what
all the other objects which I will model are on.

OTHER ITEMS
- Items which may also become quite useful to have are a
phone (blackberry), the plastic tile which is on my desk,
furniture in my room (for example, a bed, a chair and
    drawers) and a Macbook Pro.
- I may see if I can use objects which other people have
made in my animation, for example a bed and/or the
    Macbook Pro.
- Also, the background is an aspect which needs to be
designed, but this may not be very difficult because of
the simple shape/structure of my room.
RESEARCH
- The objects I chose are very straight forward as there are
not many variations of each item. For example, there is
only one model of PS Vita and most necklaces look the
same (a wire and beads). However there are many
variations of desks, and different styles of cologne
bottles which I researched and found.
