Before we get to talk about where we’re headed with Kentico EMS, I wanted to explain what are some major forces in the market shaping EMS strategy:
We see organizations to figure out that a quality of customer experience is what separates winning and losing brands, and that a technology is forcing them to redesign their customer experiences
Customers are using multiple channels and touchpoints to engage with their favorite brands, so brands need to be personal and consistent across all channels to deliver truly exceptional experiences. Managing experiences for web won’t cut it anymore.
And finally, organizations now understand that to deliver exceptional customer experiences they need to bring all areas of a business together – it’s not just content managed in CMS, but also data in CRM, PIM, ERP and other systems, so ability to plug DXP into existing technology ecosystem is very important.
We believe that what organizations need is a unified platform capable of providing a central view of the customer. And that’s in fact the basic principle and driving force behind the product strategy and development of our flagship product Kentico EMS.
[0:45]
Now, on Dec 11th we’re releasing a new version of EMS, and some of the the key enhancements include:
Data protection and GDPR application – that will help organizations to comply with a global data privacy regulations like GDPR
We’re also introducing a completely new E-mail marketing solution
Kentico 11 also comes with the next generation of our build-in EC solution
And to help organizations bring insights from different external systems together to enrich customer experiences, we are releasing native connector to Salesforce, Dynamics and Marketo as well
[0:20]
Now, when it comes to Data protection and GDPR support, as a CMS vendor we feel responsibility to help organizations accomplish GDPR compliance in the easiest and fastest way possible, at least when it comes to our solution.
[0:10]
And that’s the reason why we started a blog focusing on roles and responsibilities of digital agencies and their clients in regards to GDPR.
[0:50]
Another enhancement to the platform is a new Email marketing solution.
Of course, EM has been part of EMS for years now, however, the existing solution was missing some advanced EM capabilities and it offered outdated UX and that’s why many organizations were using external EM tools instead. The problem is that marketers are not able to access the content and context in external EM marketing tool.
And so, the biggest benefit of our new EM solution is that all the content and context stored within EMS is available for marketers to use in emails, so they can for example A/B test emails based on total customer engagement.
[0:40]
Also, EC seen a significant investment in Kentico 11, as we’ve decided to rebuild our build-in EC solution to help organizations scale their EC operation.
Few key features customers are looking for include:
Having a full control over the price and tax calculation
Ability to categorize product catalog by brands, styles, sections
And customization and extensibility model that allows them to integrate complex B2C and B2B scenarios
[0:40]
Also, related to EC, with Kentico 11 we’re announcing a strategic partnership with the e-commerce platform called Ucommerce because we noticed there is a huge opportunity in the marketplace to deliver content-first and commerce-first platform for complex B2C and B2B multichannel commerce scenarios. And with this partnership, we’re able to offer such platform to our clients.
Important for customers is that Ucommerce is fully integrated within the EMS for a seamless experience. Also, it’s not a replacement of existing EC solution.

Now when all your widgets are ready, let‘s have a look once again how to use them when composing an email.
Firstly, we will add a product. No integrations needed, you can easily choose any product from your store and place it into your email. You can even use the power of widgets to override some of the Product properties (such as name or image) for the purpose of this email message.
As a second widget, we will add the list of latest articles that are on our website.
The third widget represents a Cafe that you can visit. We will add 2 locations.
As you can see, any content, image or product that is part of your Kentico website or store can easily be reused in Email messaging.
As you can see, there is now a desktop view as well as mobile and you can also see what information will be displayed in the inbox of a selected recipient such as the sender, the subject and the preheader along with personalized content.
We did not tie up loose ends, we burned the rope. We braided a new one.
But lets start from the beginning: Make Ecommerce Great Again
