Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) is an organization founded to support the enhancement of family values in Kenya, with four key pillars namely Life, Family, Religion and Governance. We are an advocacy and networking organization made up of Christian professionals from diverse Christian groups and churches, from diverse professional backgrounds, but all committed to supporting a pro-life, pro-family, pro-religion and good-governance social environment

educators of their children
•Understand the importance of parents as role
models to their children
•To identify key areas and circumstances in
which parenting is done
4. Positive Parenting is an area of great
concern in the modern world. It will be
helpful to start with a Biblical citation:
“…And these words which I command you this day
shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them
diligently to your children, and shall talk of them
when you sit in your house, and when you walk by
the way, and when you rise…..” Dt. 6: 6-7
11. PRACTICALTIPS
• Teach your children simple facts of faith as
early as possible to know, love and thank God.
• Be willing to forgive your children and be
forgiven
• Encourage and support your children to join
church movement
• Train your children to respect authority
• Make your home a little recreation centre
• Keep communication lines with your children
• Show them how and play can be prayer.
• Help them to offer up suffering and grow in
habits of holiness

Positive parenting is a great concern in the modern world
The family is the most pro family institution
The modern world however is slowly eroding the role of parents
Positive Parenting is the mission of parents
Marriage and children are inseparably linked
Marriage is life giving union between one man and one woman
In the marriage rite, the Church asks with good reason “ will you accept children lovingly from God………
Fathering a child does not make one a parent. The role of up bringing a child include feeding, clothing, educating among others.
Parenting is an added responsibility. It is a role
Since parents have conferred life on their children, they have the original and undisputable right to educate them.
This right should be in conformity with their moral and religious conviction
Taking into account the cultural tradition of the family which favours the good and the dignity of the child.
Parents are the first and most important educators to their children.
Parents must train their children in true love .
Parents need to dedicate time to listen to their children even at the rebellious stage of their growth.
School is only supplemental to the home and never a substitute.
Home has always been a natural environment for initiating a human being into good social and community responsibility
Harmonious education takes place during pre-natal stage in the first years of infancy.
Their positive and reassuring affection towards their children are equally important.
Children are more important than work, entertainment and social positions
Fatherhood and motherhood are great vocations to be held in high esteem
Christian parents are the first teachers of their children.
Religious and moral values should be learnt at home.
As the scripture admonishes: “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life and abundant welfare will they give you…” Read [Proverbs 3:1-2]
Parents to educate their children.
Respond without evasion.
Answers must be clear, simple and understandable and proportionate.
Parents must have a sound information on the truth of love and human sexuality.
Take interest in the quality of education on sexuality children are exposed to.
