• space (why?)
• saves money (lots of unemployed)
• people with time (lots of unemployed)
• obesity issues
• government subsidies (why?)
40. Any barriers / problems to
overcome?
• contamination (there are ways...)
• lethargy / de-motivation etc.
• taste issues? (if been brought up on McDs etc...)
• Wal-mart etc not so keen?
42. What environmental pros and cons are there simply from
this population decline? (due to deindustrialisation)
43. Deindustrialisation can be positive for the local
environment – eg in Detroit.
But these things are still being made – just
somewhere else (where?) – and with even fewer
environmental controls, generally – global shift
has just changed the location of the factories and
the pollution – not reduced it [more likely
increased it as there is MORE being made (for the
growing middle classes) as well as with fewer
controls] - AND there is the added pollution from
transporting the goods all over the world...
