2. What is Long-Term Stewardship?
Long-Term Stewardship (LTS)
includes all activities necessary to
ensure protection of human health
and the environment following
cleanup, disposal, or stabilization at
a site.

3. Why Do We Need LTS?
• Thousands of sites with Risk-Based remediation,
• Keep records for any site that has been
investigated or remediated,
• Prevent disturbance of material left in place,
• Knowing what is there, and what uses are
prohibited, will help everyone make informed
decisions
