Last year the City Council failed to adopt a budget, forcing a State Takeover
and an unnecessary 47% tax hike. * Peter voted for the budget and warned
that the Takeover would create a huge 'temporary' tax increase, because of
legal issues. Peter was right. But the council majority, including Beth
Mason and Dawn Zimmer, refused to listen.
Now Peter strongly believes that millions of dollars sitting in reserve accounts
must be returned to taxpayers througha significant tax cut. As Mayor, that's exactly
