Studies the best ways for the organizations
to react to crisis

All major organizations use this type of
communication
Examples: Peanut Corporations of America
Oil Companies after oil spills
Government

4. It is important because…
Helps rebuild system after a crisis
Brings the community together after crisis
Keeps community informed
Helps maintain image and reputation

5. Different styles
Some companies stay silent, which allows
third parties to control information
Perceived similarity- helps with
identification and leads to a change in
behavior

6. My Opinion:
Companies need to react quickly during a crisis
They need to take an active role in maintaining
their image and reputation
They need to interact with the community so
they are informed of the problem and how
the company plans to fix it
