1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the
construction of the final product?
2. iMovie
iMovie is the program that we worked on to edit the film and add titles, sound and
transitions. It was my first time using this piece of software and so I learnt how to
reduce the length of shots, how to import the raw footage and to import audio.
We chose iMovie because it allows us to edit our footage and create an effective
piece.
I learnt how to adjust audio levels so that other sound could be heard. I now
understand the importance of colour in production and so I learnt to add filters to
create an atmosphere.
As well as this, I exported the final production and uploaded to YouTube.
3. Digital Camera
Obviously we needed a camera to film our production and I have never had experience in
using an actual camera so I learnt how to set a camera up on a tripod to make sure the
camera is secured. Also I learned the different functions of the camera such as zooming in
and out to get different shots.
The camera also had features where we could access what had been filmed which I actually
did not know you could do there is a menu button on the side of the camera and you can
scroll through with the other buttons. The technology helped me so I could assess the
quality of the shots just after rather than going back to school and maybe needing to re-
film.
I learnt how to frame shots effectively and became more confident in doing this with the
camera.
4. I knew enough about YouTube before this project such as the basics of searching videos, playing
videos but had never learned how to publish a video and how to make a title for it and successfully
publish it.
This was beneficial as we uploaded the opening sequence several times to help demonstrate the
progress and evolution of the production.

5. Social Networking Sites (Facebook)
Social networking sites are used so often nowadays and so we decided to use Facebook as a way
to promote our movie. I have been on Facebook for approximately 5-6 years and during the
production of ThreeSeven I learned how to create a Facebook page so that the public can see and
how to set it up so people know what it is about. This benefitted us because we could advertise the
production on Facebook for people to watch.
I understand now that it is different to create a Facebook account for a product rather than a
person and that we had to tailor content for or target audience.
6. Edublogs was a brand new site to me, I had never heard of this site before beginning the project and I learned
how to create an account, how to publish posts, how to attach files into the posts and even design my blog to
whatever I wanted. Edublogs is the site where all our pre-production was shown on, so our shot list our shooting
schedule our screenplay and so on there is our evidence of research and planning.
I used Edublogs to embed other documents such as Slideshare, YouTube videos and to upload photographs.

7. Summary…
There has been a lot I have learned about technology during
the time spent on this project which contains various of
different things like setting a camera up and then setting up a
social networking page and then to even use a live blog and
develop my own page with all my research and planning and
have our final product on there. The thing I learned most from
was the use of the site Edublogs because it is new to me and I
had never experienced a website like that before and there was
so much I learned through this project.
