Empower, a district cooling company in Dubai, signed a global cooperation agreement with the United Nations Environment Programme to promote sustainable energy technologies internationally. The agreement aims to increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and advance district energy systems in countries around the world. Separately, Egypt raised fuel prices by up to 50% as part of its agreement with the IMF to cut fuel subsidies and reduce its budget deficit. Finally, OPEC oil production increased by 280,000 barrels per day to a 2017 high in June due to rising output from Nigeria and Libya, which are exempt from OPEC's production cuts.
